Up front, Halloween spirit is not really my thing. I don’t enjoy being scared or dark things – and I don’t think most younger kids do either.
So the different objects on this fun Halloween activity are meant to come across as cartoony and silly for kids!
Go through each of the Halloween items at the bottom of the page with your child:
- Spider Web
- Bat
- Candy
- Ghost
- Pumpkin
- Jack-o-Lantern
- Spider
- Trick-or-Treat Pumpkin With Candy
- Skeleton
- Cat in a Halloween costume
- Candy corn (not witch hats)
- Mummy
- Boo!
- 3 Bats
Your kid might notice that some of these items look very similar.
There is a reason for that!
They will have to use their observation skills to distinguish between the different pictures: candies, different types of pumpkins, and the mummy and the skeleton.
This easy version is a great way to engage kindergarten students.
The printable worksheet has the same Halloween objects at the bottom of the page, but they are larger.
This will help little eyes find and count the items much more quickly.
For younger kids, definitely take the time to go through all the different items. Some of them may be new vocabulary words for younger children!
They might not right away understand Jack-o-lantern, mummy, skeleton, etc.
How To Complete Your Fun Halloween Printables!
1. Decide Which of Halloween Activities is Best For Your Kid
Of course, you want this to be a fun activity for your kiddo, so be mindful of the different levels of difficulty involved with each Halloween worksheet.
If you’re unsure which one would be best, offer the simple sheet first.
If the student blazes through it, have the more difficult option ready to go for them!
2. Make Sure the Student Is Familiar With Each of the Halloween Ojects and Can Identify Them
3. Provide Coloring Supplies
Crayons and colored pencils are great options.
Older kids will probably prefer the sharpened colored pencils for the smaller items they need to color.
You may also consider a magnifying glass as a fun way to complete the sheet!
4. Color And Count!
Encourage your child to color each of the items at the bottom of the sheet a different color.
This will be like a color key for them to follow.
Have your kiddo hunt for each of the items and color them the corresponding color they chose.
Lastly, your child should count all the items and write the correct answer in the blanks.
****No answer key was provided because this is ultimately supposed to be Halloween fun for kids. Whatever they find and count is fine ๐

1. Improved Visual Discrimination: I Spy activities require children to differentiate between similar objects, enhancing their visual discrimination skills. This can be especially helpful for tasks like reading, where distinguishing between letters and words is crucial.
2. Enhanced Attention to Detail: Hunting for hidden items in a cluttered scene trains children to pay attention to fine details. This skill is valuable in many aspects of life, from art and design to problem-solving in various subjects.
3. Introduction to Critical Thinking: As children seek out the items on their list, they engage in a form of critical thinking. They must analyze the scene, strategize their search, and adapt their approach as they progress. These critical thinking skills can carry over into their academic pursuits and everyday decision-making.
4. Encouragement of Patience: Completing an I Spy activity takes time and patience. Kids learn to be patient, persevere through challenges, and enjoy the satisfaction of completing a task. This quality is crucial in overcoming obstacles and achieving long-term goals.
